"EvMcnco. of the difficulty of renting modern house's at a. low enough rent to satisfy the demand was forthcoming after yesterday's "Evening Post" was published. An estate agent "advertised a small bungalow of three rooms at£l a week,: and numerous ,intending tenants called at the agent's residence during tho evening, in addition to which many telephone calls were taken during the evening. Today the agent had answered up to 1 p.m. over sixty telephone calls, while forty-throe persons had called at his' office. Tho house had been let quickly.
