FORTY-FOUR HOURS
STANDARD WORKING WEEK
EMPLOYEES IN NEW SOUTH WALES
SYDNEY, June 9. The Industrial Commission of New South Wales today declared forty-four j hours as the standard working week] for New South Wales employees. Certain industries will have the right to apply for exemption. The employers' representatives are of the opinion that the Commission's decision will retard tbo industry of New | South Wales in favour of Victoria, where the 48-hour week is almost universal. • Victoria already, for this very reason, is capturing considerable trade from New South Wales factories.
