PUBLIC WORKS
REMEDY FOR UNEMPLOYMENT
FRANCE AND CONFERENCE
(Received. June 10, 1 p.m.) PARIS, June 9. M. Daladier informed the Chamber of Deputies that he intended to do his utmost to promote the success of the World Conference. Franco did not consider that the manipulation of gold would solve currency problems. This must be the outcome of countries which had abandoned gold agreeing to stabilisation. There must be a concerted production policy for all countries. Prance would adhere to the forty-hour week, if other Powers decided on it. He supported public works as a remedy for, unemployment.
