The "Daily Telegraph's" Darjecling correspondent says that tho wireless operators attached to the Everest expedition achieved a remarkable transmission on Wednesday. They called up Government House, wherothe Governor of Bengal conversed with Messrs. Shcbbcarc and Frank Smythc at the base camp. Mr. Shcbbeare said that all the members of the expedition were in good health. Mr. Sinythe said that it was not to be thought that they were yet beaten. The Governor replied that he was following the progress of the climbers with tho greatest admiration, and wished them success. The Bangkok (?) correspondent of the "Daily Mail" says the Everest climbers are abandoning temporarily attempts on the summit for another four days. Fine weather is necessary to establish themselves at Camp Six. The climbers arc unlikely to be . equal to | the effort even if the weather becomes unexpectedly better. It is officially stated the climbers may remain in their camps for tho dura-1 lion of the monsoon, bnt thoso acquainted with tho Himalayas consider this impossible, as blizzards may isolate the camps for days.
