HURDLE RACE INCIDENTS '
SYDNEY, May 30. The winning of Balatis did not. satisfy the A.J.C. stipendiary stewards' in the hurdle race at Canterbury Park on Saturday. They disqualified the trainer, A. Denny, the jockey, E. Frost, and the horse for twelve months for improper practices. With regard to tjie owner, Mr. F. Ji Thornton, they decided to take no action. G. Young has a yearling moving along at Randwick, « Tippier colt, who is more forward than any of the other youngsters. The two-year-olds of next season are now given a place in the scheme of things, and a track is placed at their disposal each morning. , . Counterplay is none the worse for his race at Victoria Park. It is certain that a slightly sore mouth and being upset by two unruly horses at the barrier caused the trouble. He was very quiet at .the start for at- least five minutes. . It was only at the end of the long delay that ha began to play up. His etablemate, Manchu, has done particularly well. Ammon Ra has joined the regulars at Randwick. He was_ kept quiet for the first few days after his arrival, but now i» out for staady work each morning. R. Reed arrived in Sydney this week, and has taken up his usual quarters at Randwick. '
