IMPRESSIVE FUNERAL

The respect in which the late MY, Alex. Mcßain was held was shown by the large number and representative character of those who. assembled to pay a tribute to his memory yesterday afternoon. The funeral took place, at the Taita Cemetery, the services in St. James's Church and at the graveside being conducted by the Eev. H. E, K. Fry. - Members of the various local bodies, scholastic institutions, and sports bodies were present. The pall-bearers were Sir Alex. Eoberts and Messrs. D. S. Patrick, D. Mcßean, W. H. Olson, H. S. George, and D. McGrath. Among those present were Mr. W. Nash, M.P., Mr. J. W. Andrews (Mayor of Lower Hutt), Councillors B. Ginger, W. G. , Meklrum, C. J. Ashton, J. Mitchell, F. Campbell, W.
