INDIAN NATIVE STATE PLOT AGAINST NAWAB CALCUTTA, Juno 2. •: Aii amazing story of an illiterate jfroom, who rose to tho position of teigado commander, subsequently leading a conspiracy against the Govern- j nißut, was related'in tho Rampur State Cooirt, when Mohammed Ali Khan and four others were charged with sedition and conspiracy. Tho prosecution said that Khan, who was a colonel in tho Itampur State Forces, was formerly a groom earning two rupees a week. He conspired to bring1 the Nawab and his Government into hatred and create disaffection. His object waa to create a situation which would compel, the Nawab to send for him to deal with the disorder. Khaii was. sentenced to three years' imprisonment, but the Nawab granted a remission, of the sentence as a result of a petition for mercy.
