TODAY'S'GAMES _ ORIENTAL V. BERHAMPORE ( Oriental maintained their unbeaten recbrd in tho senior A grade by^ defeating Berhampoi'C today. The match, played at Ncwtown Park this m6rning, was well contested, though tho heavy going accounted for a minimum of spectacular ,features. Tho forwards had more of the play than the backs, and were fairly well matched. When the backs, souioof-whom operated well individually, did come into tho picturo in attempt's at combined movements, those of Oriental showed up to bettor advantage than tho opposing set. Oriental won by a margin of nine points, but this was no indication of the ruu of play. Tho senior second division leaders had to. battle hard for their points, and thC} r wero j)'acc^ on n0 defensive for the greater part of the second spoil. Bcrhampore, however, failed in not being able to top off their advances, and they wero frequently couuterod by a mobile Oriental pack. ■ : Neither side was at full strength. Ritchie, Eade, Biggar, and Dunshea were missing from tho Oriental team, as wero Cameron and Dutch from Berhampore. The teams were:—Oriental: A. Eamsay; Baldwin, Ruru,1 Kelly; Fulford, Eoyel; Siddolls; Shopherd, I. Bamsay, Pry, Polviu, Fairhall, Henshaw, Mcllraith, Collingo. Playing downhill in the first spell, Oriental put on ten points.- In-and-out passing from a Hue-out resulted in I. A breakaway early in the socond spell caught Berhamporo out of position, and a fast follow-up by Baldwin accounted for another try, A. Ramsay again converting.
