ACCJDENT IN STREET
Tn consequence of a mishap in Wakefield Street yesterday -Involving the dischaige of a revolver,1 charges were brought at tho Magistrate's Court today against KujiWid Hodsou, a motor driver, aged 10. Hodson was charged with being found in possession of two revolvers and ammunition without lawful, proper, and sufficient excuse, and also with'being found in possesiou oC an unregistered revolver, | Sub-Inspector Martin said that from the accused's account it appeared that nbout three months ago he went to-Central, Paik. While he was hunting, round amongst some rubbish he found a revolver loaded with two cartridges. He kept,it until yesterday, when he took/#j, iwo; tow a with him. In Wakefield Street he met a man named Clarke to whom ,he showed the revolver. While Clarke was handling tlic rib'it exploded and the bullet went through his hand. He was taken to hospital, but fortunately he was not seriously injured, - "This young man never told the police that he had found this revolver," said the Rub-inspector. "That was what he should have done. Thcie is no record of this firearm having been registered. • The *nb-inspcctor said that the accused o.id silted, thrtt.ithe other levolver had been given to him. . On the suggestion 01 the Magistrate (Mr. K. Page), the ca*c was adjourned for one Veelc in order to give the police an opportunity to make further inquiries.
