The attitude of Mr. Cahan, Canadiaa representative at Geneva, on the SinoJapanese conflict, was severely criti* cised by Professor Soward, of the Uni« versity of British Columbia, before the Canadian Historical Association. Mr. Cahan's speech had been modelled very much, along the lines ,of that of the British Foreign Secretary, and nearly supported the Japanese claim that China was not entitled to consideration.
