CHARGES OF FRAUD
. '■ ♦, . . .. CROWN DROPS CASES SYDNEY, May 22. The Crown ,is not proceeding witbi the cases against Corkhill and Page, of the Associated Dominions Assur* ance Company. Both men have been; acquitted. William Thedeus Page, forty-five years of age, company director, and Oswald Elfe Corkhill, forty-seven, secretary, were charged in January last with attempted fraud. The charges were that Page and Corkhill, manager; and secretary respectively of tho Associated Dominions Assurance Society* Limited, circulated and published a balance-sheet which was false in certain material'particulars in that it was falsely stated that, the assets of thn company were & 230,241, they then well knowing the particulars to be false, with intent to deceive and defraud shareholders in tho coiipany.
