SUNDAY BAND RECITAL.
A grand military night Is featured for tomorrow evening at the Do Luxe Theatre when the Band of the Ist Battalion, the Wellington Regiment, will be favoured with the presence of the Commanding Officer and officers or the Regiment. Special arrangementa have been made to ensure an outstanding entertainment. The Tahiwi Party from Otaklin full strength, with orchestra, has been engaged. This noted combination may be relied upo» to provide a real treat of Maori music. The part singing will be a feature of their. performance, with such leaders as Henare Tahlwl and Dave Nikora patrons may look forward with pleasure to what is in store for them tomorrow evening. Hemi Rikibana, the talented Maori violhiist, is assisting in the accompaniments as well as playing some delightful solos. Henare Tahiwi is coming equipped with his mouth organ, which played a prominent part in many of his successes. Included in the programme are "Etc toka," "Hinemoa," "Wehenga," "Pokaro Kare Ana," "Tama Ngakau Marie,". "Pakia Kia Rite," and "Hoki Hokl Tonu Mai." The band has prepared some of the brightest and best marches. "A Musical Switch" to be played is full of tuneful popular airs with some unusual surprises. Other numbers are "Ravenawood" "Old Comrades," and "Recollections of Verdi." The pipers and drummers will also appear. Miss Dorothy Splnks will be at the piano.
