A FINE WEEKEND
FAVOURABLE FORECAST
With the outlook more favourable than it has been for some time past, the prospects are for a fine weekend. The forecast is for moderate southwesterly winds prevailing north of Kawhia. and Napier, elsewhere the wind gradually veering to north-west and freshening. The weather will be main* ly fine and milder, with showers developing tomorrow in Westland and the far south. Some small 'showers have fallen j along the West Coast and in the far north and south, but otherwise the weather has been fair to fine and cool, with moderate to strong, but decreas^ ing, southerly winds. An anticyclone is now moving on to the Dominion, and the outlook is more favourable than it has been for some time past. There was an improvement in the weather at' Afckland yesterday, although thfl wind was still fresh from the south-west, and during last night there were occasional showers. A light southerly wind prevailed in Wellington, and the weather was fifte and cool. Bright, sunshine> totalled 5.3 hours. - A slight frost was registered last night at the* Kelburn observatory. At Christchurch the day was mostly cloudy, with a- light south-west breeze, but the sky became clear in the evening. Fair to fine but cold weather was experienced in Duncdin, with a south-west breeze.'
