PREPARING FOR TE KUITI
Wiltshire (J. Smith) and Te Hoia (J. McKae) gave a pleasing exhibitibn over the steeplechase country at Te Eapa last Thursday. Te Hoia's display was a satisfactory but unimpressive one. It was, however, an improvement on his jumping efforts of late. Wiltshire is in great fettle for engagements ahead. Cruachan, with ■J, Smith up, negotiated a couple of fences and handled them in satisfactory manner. Carmont'g charge is entered for the Te Kuiti hurdles. Wilton (Smith), Ruby Meteor (R. E. Thomson), and Balmeanach (J. Day) went off together over a round of fences. Wilton nearly came to grief at the last obstacle. Pendennis handled a round of the fences in commendable style and fenced cleanly throughout. He is a Kopaki Hurdles entry for \he Te Kuiti Meeting.
