There were prospects that the MirnmarJohnsonville game at Johnsonville would be closely contested, but after an even first spell Johnsonville showed their superiority. The Miramar side was not at full strength. : . ■ ■ In tile first half Johnsonville had advantage of the wind. Miramar's try was the result of an interception, and Thompson was the scorer. Lochore converted the try. After a series of determined assaults by Johnsonville, Mason scored after a pood opening had been ■ made for him. The kick narrowly' missed. The half-time score was: Miramar 5, Johnsonville 3. ■ , • , Miramar failed to take advantages! the wind in the second spell. Johnsonville opened their account early, Bowler scoring near the corner flag. Cathcart was the next scorer. There were a few stoppages for injuries. Miramar never looked like heading their opponents, as the ball seldom given 'to the backs. In the closing portions of the game Chancy scored Johnsonville's final try, making the score: Johnsonville 12, Miramar 5. Mr. A. do Clifton was referee.
