CHURCH FLOWER SHOW

A successful flower shew was held in the Trinity Methodist Schoolroom, under the auspices of the Ladies' Guild on Wednesday, afternoon. , A high standard was reached in the decorative work, and a bowl of golden chrysanthemums and foliage arranged by Mrs. Bramwell Scott was much admired, the judge, Mrs. Russell, remarking that it equalled anything she had ever seen. The following is the prize list:— Cut flowers: One chrysanthemum, W. Asliby; three chrysanmthemums, W. Ashby; single chrysanthemum. Rev. W. B. Scott; three single chrysanthemums, S. T. Martin 1, W. B. Scott 2; one dahlia, S. T. Martin; three dahlias, S. T. Martin; collection of flowers, Mrs. Howe 1, W. B. Scott 2. Decorative: Bowl of chrysanthemums, Mrs. W. B. Scott; bowl of mixed flowers, Mrs. Phelps; ■ vase of chrysanthemums, Mrs. W. B. Scott; vase ,of flowers, any variety, Mrs. W-. B. Scott; decorated table, Miss Burns. ■ Cookery: Plate of shortbread, Mrs. Pritchard; plate of plain scones, Mrs. Scott; plate of fruit scones, Mrs. S. T. Martin; fruit' cake, Mrs. AY, B. Scott; butter sponge, Miss Burns; nut loaf, Mrs. Scrimgeour. Vegetables: Carrots, Mrs. Rabey; parsnips; W. B. Scott; potatoes, Mrs. Roberts; collection of vegetables, S. Martin. ' Mr. M. Russell judged the cut blooms and vegetables, Mrs. M. Russell the decorative section, and Miss Eemiie the cookery exhibits.
