Lords bj 42 votes to 40 rejected Lord Danesforth's Perform-1 ing Animals Amendment Bill, prohibiting tho -training of chimpanzees and other anthropoid apes, lions, tigers, panthers, aiid boars. Lord Danesforth argued that ' training was impossible without tjruelty and serious danger to | the, trainers.
