UNUSUAL TEMPTATION

An astonishing story of succumbing to an unusual temptation was related in the Police Court when William Easton, Marion Easton, his wife, Kobert Pryde Turabull, and Edward Tobin pleaded guilty, the first two to stealing £45^ and the others to receiving a~ portion of the amount. The facts related were that Eastoi, who was unemployed, was cleaning windows for the complainant, and was given a pair of old shoes. When hereturned home^ he and his wife and other* found! £45 in one shoe, where the complainant had put the notes and had forgotten- them., All were unemployed and tho money' was' divided. The Magistrate, in view of these' peculiar circumstances, convicted the men, and ordered them to come up for sentence if required. Th? charge against the woman, who is only 18 years old, was dismissed.
