As the first step to the " harmonisation" of banking, the Central Banking Association lias been reorganised. The president' has "resigned," and -a new board has been appointed, charged with the downward revision of interest rates. A further instalment of trade union reform is the appointment of two commissars to arrange fusion of the mnnual labourers and the clerical employees unions by May 10, when Herr Hitler will attend a nation-wide trade union conference to create a combined labour front in the STazi. campaign against Marxism. ■ The Prussian Minister of Education, under the new. civil servants' law, enabling the retirement of Jewish or politically suspect officials, has retired 23 professors from the Berlin University and nine from, Cologne.
