The net result was- a deficit balance of 15,000,000 dollars, which compares with a net profit for the same group in 1931 of «59,000,000 ■ dollars, in which year there were profits'by 61 per cent, of the comjjanies totalling 507,000,000 dollars and deficits by 39 per cent, totalling 648,000,000 dollars. .
