A NEW CITY
REBUILDING OF NAPIER
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NAIMER, May 2. With tho exception of a few buildings to be constructed at the order of public companies operating under difficulties in temporary quarters since tho earthquake, the reconstruction programme is nearing a close. Permits issued in April aggregated £5308 10s, bringing tho total since the restoration began to £760,992. Tho two commissioners, Messrs. J. S. Barton and L. B. Campbell, to whose control since the earthquake, Napier in a large measure owes much, will leave the city on May 15. -,
