PEINCE'S ENGAGEMENT

MARRYING A COMMONER

BERLIN, April 20. Royalists are distressed over the engagement of Prince Wilhelm of Prussia, eldest son of the ex-Orown Prince, to Fraulein Dorothea yon Salviati, a member of an ancient Italian family, who settled in Prussia in the eighteenth century. The Royalists regard Wilhelm as the future Emperor, and they are incensed because he has ignored the rule that the Hohenzollerns must marry persons of equal birth. Prince Wilhelm considers his choice is consonant with the spirit of the age.
