DR. BEGG'S COMMENT
In an interview today the president of the- New Zealand Legion (Dr. E. Campbell Bcgg) said that he was more than pleased with the result of last evening's meeting. There had been a good response to the invitation to join up, although ho was unable to say how many signed membership cards. During the meeting Dr. Bcgg read a. telegram from Sir Truby King, in which Sir Truby expressed his , warm approval of the movement and his desire to take an active part in its work. About 100 people who could not be accommodated in the main Town Hall listened to the speeches through amplifiers in the Concert Chamber. It is the intention of the Legion to open three shops in the- main streets of Wellington for the purpose of euabling citizens to euroi, . ' i
