SALES AT CHRISTCHURCH

Sales of Mr. J. R. McKenzie's and Mr. J. M. Samson's thoroughbred and trotting horses we're conducted at Christchurch on Monday evening, when there was a very large attendance. Mr. MeKenzie disposed -Of his whole offering, but some of Mr. Samson's horses were passed. Among these were Guarantee, (reserve 350 guineas) and Princess Argosy (reserve 325 guineas). Prices were in keeping with the times. The top price .of 900 guineas was paid by A. McAulay for Southdown, a two-year-old brown colt bred in Australia.
