AMENDMENTS REJECTED
(Eeeeived April 11, 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, April 10. The British Government's majority, fell to the lowest 'figure since it camo into office on a "Diehard" amendment seeking to exclude four members of the Ministry from th© Commons members of the Joint Committee on India. * Colonel Crookshank, Mr. Churchill, and General Page-Croft and their supporters claimed that the Ministerial policy, would bo too strongly represented on the committee and prevent impartiality. The amendment was defeated ty 209 votes to 118, tho minority including eighty Conservatives in response to a special "Diehard" whip. A further series of "Diehard'* amendments wero rejected, and the appointment of the committee carried ■without a division.
