PLACE IN CONFERENCE
(Received April 11, 11 a.m.) I • WASHINGTON, April 10. | The Secretary of State (Mr. C. Hull) ' indicated ou Monday that among the subjects to be discussed in the Washington conversations were tho restoration of the prico of silver and the control of wheat surpluses. The silver question, Mr. Hull indicated, is now figuring in the AugloAmerican discussions carried on through Sir Ronald Lindsay. These will continue this week. The question of silver, and the possible means of improving its price, are mentioned in detail in tho formal agenda for tho Economic Conference. The, question of developing noiv and enlarged industrial uses for silver is emphasised in the programme as j worthy of careful consideration. Also I advocated for consideration is a pos j sibie improvement in the methods of' marketing the metal by producers and currency authorities. Other possibilities are tho increased use of silver as coins by tlio principal nations and the purchase Ijy the leading countries now on the gold standard or desiring to rd turn to it of a stipulated amount of silver to be added to the reserves of the central banks.;
