INTERIM CONFERENCE

The interim conference of the Plunkct Society was held recently in Wellington, and was largely attended by representatives from : all over New Zealand. The jchair was occupied by Mrs. McGeorge, vicej>residenfc of the Central Council, Mrs. J. A. Johnston, president,. being unable to be present on account of illness. The following remits from Wellington -were unanimously passed:— (1) A referendum to be taken from ievery branch in New Zealand as to whether a biennial conference be held in the coming year. • (2) The advisability, of restoring the nurses' holidays to'at least three weeks, as soon as feasible, which will bring the Plunket nursing, service into line with other nursing services in New Zealand. (3) Questions and matters of interest that are to be ' brought forward by branches for discussion at group conferences should, if possible, be forwarded to the Central Council beforehand, so that the Central Council may in turn forward these to other branches before the group conferences are held. • The fourth remit from Wellington, that the director of Plunket nursing be at hand at all conferences, provincial and otherwise, bo that her help and advice can lie sought if needed, was altered to "That all executive, officers of the society be at hand at all conferences, provincial and otherwise,, so that their help and advice can be sought if needed."
