OLD GIRLS' SCHOLARSHIP
It was announced at the annual meeting of the St. Mary's College Old Girls last evening, that a scholarship would be donated by the Association, and would be open to ail girls attending tho parish schools in tlio city and suburbs of Wellington. This scholarship ■ to tho value of £12 12a would be, tenable at St. Mary's College for two' years. ' j Miss Saunders presided over the meeting, which was hold in the new assembly hall of tho College. The annual report, referring to tho social activities of the association, stated that a' bridge party had been held in the New Assembly Hall during May, and a dance, held in St. Francis Hall in October had been very satisfactory although the committee had been disappointed that there had not been more Old Girls present. The. association had held a "paddy's market" stall at tho annual garden party with a profit of £14. Tho committee regretted having to report the death oi' Miss D. Eiley (Hawera) and extended j sympathy to her relatives. Thank 3 were expressed to Airs. 0. Collins, Misses T. McGrat.h, M. Williams, B. Martindalo Key. .Father Smyth, and Messrs. N. Crombie, E. Reeves and B. OK. Cahill. Tho report and balance sheet were adopted. Officers were elected as follows: — President, Mrs. lan-Duncan; vice-pre-sidents, Mesdaines Woybournc, Nash, Pcare, Gibbs, Ellis; secretary, Miss D. Dealey; assistant secretary, Miss N. Williams; treasurer, Miss M. Beeves; ■committee, Misses Saunders, P. Beeves Duffy, O'Connor, N. Martindale, Anderson and Hickspn. • ■
Miss Fannar, piloting the Marlbovough Aero Club's Gipsy Moth,ZK-ABA, arrived at Eongotai at 8.40 a.m.. yesterday. Miss Farmar intends to return to Blenheim this afternoon.
Glass curtains made by a secret process in which silk or cotton can be enclosed between two sheets of glass may soon be on the market. The curtains will neither get dirty nor wear out.
