DUNEDIN, This Day..'1,", ■Now that the Byrd expedition, hai been assured of its supplies ofmeatr, coal, oil, etc., more should shdrtly 'bBJ heard of the second . trip :to the Aiit* arctic. The supply officer writes to the local agents in Dunedin: "The Tidewater Pil Company has agreed to transport all gasoline and oil.in its own tanker ito Dunedin, and undoubtedly it is ini-a position to take advantage of storing facilities. You will readily understand our desire to provide refrigerating facilities, as wo are endeavouring to have all supplies requiring refrigeration! shipped directly to New Zealand, where . they can be takenjCare of pending our; ' arrival. Admiral Byrd points out.tha great necessity of cutting the cost of this undertaking to a minimum, and is! view of past experience we, are qui;t9 confident you will do your utmost to co-operate with us.. Several members' of the old expedition are looking forward to the day when they will again! have the pleasure of seeing you <an&' your pleasant country."
