Outlining the legislative programme for the remainder, of the special session the Speaker of the House of Representatives (Mr. Eainey) said at a Press conference on Thursday that no action would be taken on the silver question. He supported' the move to have the Public Construction Bill include a naval building programme. "Silver will be an international question," Mr. Eainey said. "Britain, Franco, and the United States will have to decide upon it." As to the 230 million dollar naval programme, sponsored by the chairman (Mr. Vinson) of tlio House N»val Committee, Mr. Eainey said that the next war would be fought with poison gas, submarines, and bombs dropping out of the skies from aeroplanes. "We might as well fight the next war with modern equipment." /■ ■ "When is the next war coming?" he was asked. v "I hope it -won't come," ho said.
