MATCHES EXPLODE IN
(By Teleprraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHUECH, This Day. A bright interlude was provided at the University cricket match yesterday -when a box o£ matches exploded in an Otago player's pocket. The visitor was fielding in the slips, and eat down with a bump in stopping a hard ball. Almost simultaneously wreaths of smoke spread round him, to the aratzement of the spectators. He quickly discovered what was wrong, hurled the matchbox away, and ruefully surveyed a charred pocket. *
