The programme at Shortt's Theatre Is headed by "The Phantom President," a political comedy. . . . > . , George Arllss has played many roles, but it la doubtful whether any were as successful as that he takes in "The Millionaire," which opens at Shortt's Theatre tomorrow. Arllss plays the part of James Alden, introduced as a man with apparently one foot in the grave, who yields to the demands of his doctor and the entreaties of his wife and daughter, and takes a rest. Unknown to the others, however, he makes the rest a change of work, and secretly starts to build up a business as a garage proprietor. The concern is threatened with bankruptcy, but eventually Alden bucceeds. A love interest is supplied by Alden's partner In the garage business and his daughter. Florence Arllss, the wife of the star, is also his wife in the picture.
