SYDNEY, April i. On the Sydney Stock Exchange today ah active demand continued for good class securities. Sellers were hard to locate. There were exceptionally brisk dealings in mining shares. Sales:—Bank of New South Wales, £30 2s 6d; Commercial Banking Co. of Sydney, £15 12s (id; Commercial Bank of Australia, 14s sd; National Bank of Australasia, £5 [paid, £5 17s 6d, £10 paid, £12 11s; Bank of New Zealand, 43s 9d; United Insurance, '£8; Colonial Sugar, £55; Associated News, 7s 9d; ditto, pref., 17s 6d; Berlei, 25s 6d; British Tobacco, 34s 3d;' Tooth's, 35s 10V4d; Australian Glass, 475; Fairymead Sugar, 265; Broken Hill Proprietary, 29s 10% d; South Broken Hill, 43s 3d; North Broken Hill, 63s 3d. MELBOURNE, April 4. Sales today included:—Commercial Bank of Australia, 14s 6d; Dunlop Perdriau, 17s Id; Goldsbrough, Mort, 235; HeraldWeekly Times, 55s 3d; Mount Lyell, 19s.
