March quarter figures are as follows:—Customs, 1933, £269,425; 1932 £186 041 Beer duty, £17,473 (£19,254). Motor spirit tax, £56,788 (£52,625). Tire duty, £1825 (£2481). Tire duty, £655 'DUNEDIN, March 31. ■ Customs returns for the month of March are, as follows:—Customs, £42,301 lls (£53,358, March last1 year); beer, £18,504 (£19,217): petrol £11,204 '(£14,294); tiros, . & 755 (£759). Quarterly figures are as follows :—Customs, £ 152,036 ( £ 153,177): beer, £59,042 (.£61,333); petrol, £40,712 (£39,251); tires, £2039 £2122). The sales lax for the month was £2344 (£IO3O for February). AUCKLAND/March 31. Customs duties for the financial year' ended today show an increase/ of £299,442. The revenue from motor spirit is down £25,813, and from tires £6597,, but the total from the three sources'shows an increase of £267,032. Figures for the .year are:—Customs, £2,004,032; motor spirit, £466,450; tires, £22,537; total, £2,493,019. Customs revenue . for March totalled, £173,281, compared, with £157,862 for March, 1932. PetVol and tires totalled £41,103, compared with £42,358.
