(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHEISTCHUECH, This Day. At a meeting of the New Zealand Life-saving Council a letter was received from, the central executive in London sympathising with the New Zealand Council in its effort for swimmers to be allowed to act as beach patrols without losing their amateur status. The letter also commended the action of certain borough councils in bringing the bylaw regarding "neck to knee" costumes up to date. The letter stated: "Even in this old-fashione.d country wo have gone a long way beyond that. Our young people will not be tied down by hidebound tules, especially while on seaside [holidays."- . . . .
