The second chapter now begins," declared the Chancellor, Herr Adolf Hitler, in announcing the Keiehstag s acceptance of the Enabling BUI. iierr Hitler concluded by demanding the passage of Jihe Enabling Bill and was frantically applauded. The Socialist leader, Herr Wels, in. opposing the BUI, said: "You can take our liberty and our livbs. but not our honour."
The Bill was carried oy 441 votes to 94, all parties except the Socialists supporting it, and the }teiehstag adjourned indefinitely. When Herr Hitler appeared on the balcony he was acclaimed by a. multitude of Storm Troops.
Hen- Severing, the Socialist, was arrested outside the Reichstag, but allowed to vote against the Enabling Bill. Ho was escorted by two detectives and then taken to gaol. The Reich Council representing the States unanimously approved the Enabling Bill. . . ■ . ATROCITY STORIES. The Government is instructing all. Ambassadors to protest against the publication abroad of atrocity stories, ana declares that while some acts of terrorism occurred af the beginning of the "National Revolution," violence has now practically ceased. Dr. Giinther Gereke, Nationalist member of the Cabinet and the Reich's Commissioner for Employment, has been arrested at tho instance of Captain Goering on suspicion of breach of trust and embezzlement. Karl Arthur, Duke- of Saxe-Cob'urg, an. ardent Nazi and a cousin of King Geovgo, who was bom and educated in England, has been appointed State Commissar of Antomobilism ana chairman of a special committee for the promotion of the niotorisation.-of Germany,
