BRITISH SAILORS' SOCIETY.

An excellent concert was presented at the rooms of the British Sailors' Society j on Thursday evening, and was enjoyed by -j a large number of men from ships in port. ( The programme was arranged by Miss j .Hazel Martin, items being given by Misses j Lorraine and Joan Walker, Esme' and j Rangi, Carlyle, Peggy and Monica Bentjey, j Alma Longhurst, Valma Nicholus, Thelma , Wakefqrd, Doreen Dickinson, Edna i Thompsorij Bobbie Glading, Doreen Ash- ■ bridge, Margaret Hutchinson, Vera Bellamore, Jill Cain, Joy Vardey, Joyce Workman, Iris Elliott, Yvonne Fisher, Judy ( Cooper, and Messrs. Mark Fisher, Keith ; Woollitt, Donald Ross. At the conclusion , of, the programme supper was served by ' the young ladies of the society, the even- , ing drawing to a close with the singing of "God Save the King."
