The Japanese and Manchukuo authorities announce a new programme of government for Jehol.
. Plans are being formulated for the reorganisation of political and v economic conditions for a vast scheme of highway construction and for an exhaustive survey of natural resources—coal, petroleum, gold, and. timber. The province will be divided into three areas—desert, forest, and . agricultural zones. An attempt will "ha made to make the province self-sun-porting. Finances will be under the control of "the Central Bank of Manchukuo, which will gradually replace the old currency.
Practically all the fighting has «eased in North China, but wounded continue to reach the' main hospital bases. At least 1.0.Q0.ft are receiving treatment.
