GAELIC CLUB

The. monthly meeting of the Comunn Gaidhealach was held in the club rooms, 19 Allen Street, last Saturday. This meeting, which was the last one of the social year, was well,attended. The chairwoman (Sirs. A. Mac Vicar) moved a. vote of sympathy'with the family of the late Mrs. H. Mackenzie, the members standing in silence. Mr. A. Graham then played a lament, "The Flowers of the Forest," in memory of Mrs. MacKenzie, who at all times extended a truly Highland welcome to members of the club. During the evening songs were given by Miss Ngaire Coster, who sang "Eriskay Love Lilt"; Miss F. MacLeod. "An ribhinn 0"-"; Mr W. Hibberd. "The Trumpeter": Mr Chambers, -Scots Wlia Hne"; Mr. J. McI lines, "Soiridh"; and Mr. J. C. MacDonald, "An Gleann." Exhibitions of Highland dancing were given by Mr. Donald Scott, jun., who danced the "swords" and Highland fling. The accompanist for the evening was Mrs. MacMillan, assisted by pipe selections from Mr. Donald Scott, sen., and Mr. Angus Graham.
