Winds.—Strong northerly winds to tales backing to south-west shortly in the far south '; a. southerly change is likely to extend over the Dominion after from twenty-four to thirtysix hours. Barometer.—Falling slowly. Seas.—Rough south of Cape Egmont and off shore south of Castlepoint; elsewhere smooth to moderate. Tides.—Good. Weather.—Unsettled in western and southern districts of the South Island, with some rain, heavy falls and some flooding being likely on the West Coast; elsewhere fair to fine at first, but rain gradually extending over districts with a westerly aspect. Temperatures mild.
