WAIRARAPA TROTTING CLUB

At a meeting of the stewards of the Wairarapa Trotting Club, held at Greytown on Wednesday evenin;;, the balancesheet o£ the vace meeting held recently at the Hutt Park disclosed a very satisfactory profit to the club o£ £U9S Is sd. Votes of thanks were accorded all who had assisted to make'the meeting a success, the Wellington Trotting Club for their assistance, and" to Messrs. Levin and Co. for their donation of a canteen of cutlery-. ' It was resolved that a gratuity *be paid to the secretary (Mr. H. Mortensen) as au appreciation of his work in building up the club, and also that a presentation be made to Mrs. Mortensen for her voluntary services. x • ■ • _ With the present balance available it was decided that a certain amount be placed on fixed deposit, and the available balance in the P. 0.5.8. Messrs. J. F. Thompson, G. A. Vincent, and H. Mortensen were appointed trustees. Messrs. G. McKenzie, G. A. Vincent, and B. Scwell (with power to add) were appointed a committee to inquire into the question of setting up a company and establishments for the training of horses, thereby cheapening training costs.
