THE ANNUAL MEETING
(Special to "Tho Evening Post.") MASTERTON, This Day. . The annual meeting of thrf Masterton V.M.C.A. was held last night. Referring to the year's operations, Mr-. H. M. Peacock, the chairman, said he was looking forward optimistically to the future of the association, particularly in the way of i developing the spiritual side. He paid a tribute to the good work done by the secretary Mr. A. E. Bate) during the year.
A letter was received from the Mayor (Mr. T. Jordan) acknowledging the great assistance he had received from Mr. Bate in connection with relief of the unemployed.
The Rev. E. J. Rich and Messrs. J. Miller, S.M., H. Pearse, and S. W. Morice were appointed to the directorate.
The Rev. J. Cocker and Mr. Bate were appointed delegates to attend the annual V.M.C.A. conference.
Mr. Peacock suggested that as a gesture of real appreciation of its services, two representatives of the ladies' auxiliary should be appointed to the directorate. Other members raised doubts whether this could be done under the constitution, and the association's delegates were requested to bring the matter before the forthcoming conference.
, Votes of thanks were passed to Messrs. A. D. Low, honorary auditor; H. 11. Daniell, honorary solicitor; A. Macormack, pianist; the ladies' auxiliary; and the Press.
