LADY FERGUSSON
RECOVERING FROM
ACCIDENT
Several months ago a cable message was received from England stating that Lady Alice Fergusson, wife of Sir Charles Fergusson, formerly GovernorGeneral of New Zealand, had met with a serious motor accident. During their stay in' Wellington, both Sir Charles and Lady Fergusson took a deep interest in the Home for Aged Needy, Wellington South, frequently visited tho institution, and helped in many ways to add to the pleasure and comfort of the residents. .
Mr. George Petherick, chairman of the trustees of the home, wrote on behalf, of the trustees, staff, and residents, expressing sympathy with Lady Alice ana hope for a speedy recovery. Mr. Petherick has received a reply from Misg Frances Fergusson, daughter of Sir Charles and Lady Fergusson, expressing thanks for the letter of sympathy, and adding: "Lady Alice, though she ia not yet allowed to write herself, is making a good recovery, and we hope that in a few months she will be able to resume her normal active life. Sir Charles Fergusson is tt present on a 'Government commission to the West Indies. He returns home early hi March, and will, I know, greatly appreciate your letter. Both his and Lady Alice's interest in friends in New Zealand is unfailing, and they are both most interested to hear of the homo and those who live llierc."
