At the Sydney Stadium in the middleweight championship of Australia, fifteen rounds, Ron Richards, lOst 131b, gained the decision on a foul in the twelfth round against Fred Henneberry, lOst 13Jlb, the former titleholder. Richards was aggressive to the eighth, after which Honneberry sparkled in in-fighting. He was twice warned for doubtful blows, and finally outed for a rabbit-killer. He was booed out of the ring.
