•' The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated March 18, from the High Commissioner for Aew Zealand, London :— /'Tallow.—Auction will be held on March 29. Market quiet and steady, with no material change in values. "Hemp.—Manila: Market quiet and steadier owing to improved tone in America. At the close "X" grade for MarchSlay or April-June shipment sold at £14 15s. Output January 1 to March 13, 220,000 bales, against 198,000 same period last year. ' Stocks in the United Kingdom on February 28 to 14,345 bales, against 21 374 same time last year. Stocks in Manila on March 13, 158,000 bales, against 95,000 at same time last year. Sisal: Market inner and good business has been done. ilarch-May shipment No. 1 sold £14 15s-June-August shipment, £15 ss; 'No 2 afloat £14 10s. New Zealand: Market quiet and nominally unchanged. Stocks m London on February 28, 61 tons against 31 tons same time last year.
