She was walking through the Belt to meet a.friend when the man suddenly appeared and struck her ou the head. He then attempted to throttle her, but being disturbed by a passin" motor-ear, he threw her over a bank" and rushed away.
Dazed and shocked by the attack, and bleeding from the head, Miss McLachlan made her way to a nearby house. A doctor was called in, and he inserted two stitches in her head. Today she is suffering from shock, but her condition is giving no concern. Whe- the police arrived they found the beer bottle on the spot.
