COMMONWEALTH LAND PARTY
A meeting of the Commonwealth Land Party was held in the Dominion Farmers'Institute on Tuesday when an address was given by Mr. Xicolaus on the "supposed dislocation of trade through the .bringing in of the land restoration and Free Trade policy at one hit."
Mr. JCicolaus said that however it might dislocate the activities of the few who might be forcorl to chance their agencies of certain goods, the bulk of traders and manufacturers would gain. The aggregate gai:i to the broadest base of society, namely, those with only their labour to sell, would be enormous; thus sending trade in general forward with a big bound, through the increased spending power. This in its turn would encourage large and swift immigration of the right kind, thereby still further increasing trade. Opportunity being equal for profitable employment, each immigrant who arrived would increase the aggregate wealth produced, and still further increase the power of production of those already here.
