VIENNA, March. 15,
Troops are guarding Parliament anc} public buildings owing to the Opposition's summoning a national council. Extreme tension prevails in Vienna owing to the belief that the Government will use force to prevent deputies from assembling.
The city is under arms tonight. Police, wearing steel helmets and armed with rifles, are dispersing Nazis, Socialists, and Communists alike, all of whom are demonstrating against Herr Dollfus's semi-dictatorial rule. The police mounted machine-guns at strategic points, and troops were held ready in fear, of a Nazi Monarchist coup d'etat. The police entered Parliament to. find the Socialists and Nazis already sitting. They held a two-minute session and prorogued Parliament indefinitely, cheering the Republic. The police immediately notified the Deputy-Presi-dent (Herr StrafEner) that the session was illegal, as the police were not notified.
