THE FINALISTS

The semi-finals of the Wellington Centre champion of champions rinks were played on the Victoria Green this morning, the finalists being found on the Lyall Bay and Victoria greens. The sun was hot, and the greens, though very true, were fast. SECOND ROUND. SEMI-FINAL". Braekenridge (Lyall Bay), 21: Brighting (Hataitai),. 17. Bolton (Viotoria), 21; Pollock (Newtown), 12. NOTES ON PLAY. Bolton killed three or four heads, and the gradually successful progress of Victoria was also in other respects a personal triumph for him. The other game was a- hard-fought one. Lyall Bay tied with Hataitai on the third head,' 3-all. Hataitai was 6 to 3 on the fifth head, and stayed on 6 for six heads, when Lyall Bay were 14 to 6. Hataitai then recovered, and made it 15-all on the sixteenth head. Hataitai were leading 17.t0 15 on the eighteenth head, when Lyall Bay drew away irresistibly, scoring 4, 1, 1, and -winning 21 to 17. Eyall Bay was lying better than the point claimed on the last head. Lyall Bay's outstanding player was Naylor. All the Hataitai players did their bit.
