RED CROSS AWARDS
The following certificates and awards were presented to members of the Red Cross Society, Upper Hutt branch, last Friday. . The presentations were made by Mrs. Abel, -wife of Major J. Abel (chairman of the New Zealand executive). Dr. F. W. Kemp occupied the chair. First Aid.—Elementary, honours: Messrs. Slinn, J. Brown, H. J. Smith, G. Gjjtlme, R. Langdon, and R. Ritzmal Pass: Mrs. Oram, Misses A. Skou, J. Sykes, I. Braid, J. Boult, and M. Quinil. Intermediate,. honours: Misses H Golder, A. Jenkins, B. Cropp, and M. Wallis. Pass: ' Miss D.' Marryatt Medallions:" Mrs. M. K. Gibbs, Miss J. A very, and Mr. R. Pearse. Second bar: Miss T. Golder. Home Nursing.—Elementary, honours: Miss M. Larmer and Miss M. Allan Pass: Misses H. Golden, J. Collett, B. Robinson, and M. Quinn. Intermediate, honours: Misses M. Wallis, B. Cropp, and A. Jenkins. Pass: Miss D. Marryatt. Medallions: Mrs. M. K. Gibbs. Second bar: Miss T. Golder. Following the presentations a musical programme was _ arranged, items being given by the following:—lnstrumental trio, Miss Lorna Pearse, Mr. R. Pearse, and Mrs. H.. Edwards; song. Miss N. Golder; recitation. Miss Fay Baigent: violin and piano duet, Miss Hugcius and Mrs. Goodwin; vocal duet, the Misses I. and J. Shell; elocution, Miss G. Can-; pianoforte solo. Miss B. WMteman; song, Master D. Smith: song, Mrs. Hirshhorn; pianoforte solo, Mrs. Toralin. The hall was crowded, and after supper dancing was arranged.
